The Pittsburgh Pirates season is over and the championship series is still going on.  No moves to bolster the 2019 Pirates can be made, so it’s time to review some prospects for the next few weeks. Today we are going to review Nick Kingham as he has graduated from the prospect realm of baseball. Did he do enough in 2018 to earn a spot on the 2019 Opening Day roster? He is out of minor league options so Neal Huntington will have to make some tough decisions.

We are coming to you live from Mazeroski Field in Oakland to celebrate "The Greatest Homerun Ever" as Bill Mazeroski hit the walk off home run in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series against the vaunted New York Yankees in what is still considered to be the greatest sports upset of all time and the greatest sporting moment of all time as this little city of Pittsburgh was able to beat the unbeatable New York Yankees in the classic tale of David v. Goliath with Bill Mazeroski being our hero.

With the offseason a little over a month away, the Pittsburgh Pirates have some needs to fill. It can’t be another offseason in which Neal Huntington doesn’t sign a single player to a major league contract. The Pirates biggest need is clearly the shortstop position, with Jordy Mercer set to become a free agent should Neal Huntington consider bringing him back  to Pittsburgh or should he pursue other options with all of the money coming off the books heading in to next season.

Last Sunday, September 23 in his final press conference of the season, Pittsburgh Pirates general manager Neal Huntington delivered an eye opening, yet true quote which can essentially summarized the entire year for his team. The Pittsburgh Pirates were one win away per month from a playoff berth. They were that close in 2018, a year in which many thought they would lose at least 90 some games. But they overcame odds and had a winning season, what is in store for 2019?

The Pittsburgh Pirates rotation has been something special to watch. It's full of young pitchers who are just coming into their potential, and their performances have propelled this Pirates team, giving them a chance to finish above .500. Ivan Nova may not be young, but he is still exciting and special to watch. He would have had an excellent last night if the rain did not hit in Pittsburgh. What can we expect to see from Ivan Nova for the rest of 2018, and headed into 2019?

The last time we saw Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco on a baseball field, he treated fans to one of the ugliest attempts of a slide in history. It was both unecessary and stupid, but we have to get past the fact that this situation is unfortunate because Gregory Polanco is slated to be out anywhere from Mid-April to Mid-June. The question then becomes is who takes over in right field. Jordan Luplow is certainly capable of being that right fielder, these are the questions we will answer on the show today.

Another season is almost in the books for the Pittsburgh Pirates and there's been another major power outage in Pittsburgh. The team as a whole, simply isn't hitting any homers. Besides Gregory Polanco and Starling Marte we have not gotten much power from expected power hitters. Most notably Josh Bell and Corey Dickerson along with Colin Moran, were all expected to at least hit 15-25 HR especially Bell and Dickerson. Is it Jeff Branson's fault, and what should the Pirates do about this problem heading into 2019.

Ever since coming over from Tampa Bay, it is no secret that Chris Archer has struggled in the black and gold. We are going to discuss whawt the issue is, and how he can fix it for the 2018 stretch run and for 2019 and beyond. Neal Huntington gave up a big haul for Archer, and if this move does not pan out it could be an organizationally defining move for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and that is not what anybody wants.

Last night, the Pirates offense seemed to come alive just a little bit. They at least recorded double digit hits, but they were still missing those big runners on base or in scoring position hits that really break open a game, and that's why they lost in 15 innings. Prior to last night's game the offense had scored 7 runs in the last 7 games, not a pretty number. So the question becomes, what needs to be done. Is Jeff Branson on the hot seat? Find out here.
