In a move that reshapes the future of Australian baseball, Perth Heat manager Andy Kyle is stepping away from club duties to take on a national coaching role focused on long-term player development.
Kyle has been selected for the Australian Institute of Sport’s prestigious Gen 32 program, a two-year high-performance coaching scholarship aimed at developing the next generation of elite talent across multiple levels of the sport.
“This isn’t about winning championships anymore,” Kyle said. “It’s about building champions.”
While Kyle’s departure from the dugout marks a shift in his day-to-day responsibilities, it is a strategic step toward influencing the broader direction of Australian baseball.
