BaseballFolk

Welcome to BaseballFolk. Baseball is its own country, with its own people, places, history, folklore, language and traditions throughout the world and ages.

I’m Clifton Blue Parker, and today we’re taking a journey through that world with someone who’s experienced as much modern baseball than almost anyone.

Dusty Baker entered professional baseball in the 1960s, played alongside Hank Aaron, became an All-Star and World Series champion with the Dodgers, managed Barry Bonds, led five major-league franchises, and ultimately won the World Series as a manager with Houston in 2022. His baseball life connects generations.

In this episode, Dusty talks about Hank Aaron and lessons about life, his early years as a player, managing in an era of changes to the evolving national pastime, and memories about the people and places in the game. He also discusses his new book, "Crossroads," and his Baker Family Wines venture.
