It is God himself who is doing the work in and through you. The bad news is that apart from Jesus Christ we are dead in our sins and our realm of existence is sin and death following the ways of this world. The good news is God is rich in mercy and because of his great love for you he sent Jesus to rescue you from the darkness and make you alive with him sustained by his grace through faith. Salvation is not the result of works - it can only be had by faith. It's by grace through faith from start to finish.

John 5:24 is one of my favorite verses. "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." When Adam and Even came into this world they were made in the image of God - fully alive. But when sin entered the world they died spiritually. When Jesus came and offered himself as the lamb of God, he took away sins so we could be forgiven and be made alive in Christ. Hebrews 10 To gain full assurance of salvation you need to take a deep look at the cross and see what Jesus did on your behalf. * Colossians 1:21-22 talk about being reconciled to Christ and how we are holy and blameless. Everybody wants to know if they're secure in Christ. And there's certainly teaching that raises doubts as to the assurance of salvation. If we're going to experience the assurance of our salvation it's going to start in the reality of the resurrection and the fact that our sins have been forgiven. Peter addresses it in his second letter: "For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins." 2 Peter 1:9 * Why is it not preached that we must be born again? * What does the Bible really say about repentance? Do you have to repent to be saved? * What about bearing fruit? * What is your position on the doctrine that Jesus that dies spiritually? * Is the King James Version the truth Word of God?

Can you know that you are saved? Can you know that you're destined for Heaven? So many people want to know the answers to those questions. We see the assurance of our salvation spelled out in 1 John 5:13 "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life." Our salvation is found in Christ alone. * What is faith? * How can I distinguish working for my salvation and working for my reward in Heaven? * Shelby is starting to lose her hope and faith in Christ and asks how she can hold on to her faith.

Paul presents us with great truths and then offers a prayer for the Ephesians. Their faith in Jesus manifested itself in love towards one-another. He prays that they God would give them the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him. This is something that God alone can give. God wants to reveal the fullness of his son to us.

John wrote: "Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." God created us to be alive and enjoy his life and a relationship with him. * I went through the motions of saying that I accepted Christ as my savior and was baptized. Everything that is written in the Word of God is to bring us to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and faith in him. Romans 10:17 "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." We have someone who is always with us and will never leave us. * In 1 Corinthians 14 does it say that people are speaking to God in a special language? * Why did God send the Israelites into battle to claim the promised land? * Some people use Mark 16:17-18 to say speaking in tongues is THE primary evidence of having the Holy Spirit.
