  • Bibi Hurleen Kaur - Tera Sadarraa Suneejai Bhaaee - Birmingham 9.11.24
    Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/SjDrlAhsZ8g
In celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's prakash purab (coming into the world), Bhai Baljit Singh shares the sakhi (true story) of when Guru Nanak Dev Ji as a teenager is singing out, asking for someone to sit with him and sing of that One. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was called mad and crazy; for us it's in this kind of madness of devotion that we can cut through our layers of our ego and connect to something deeper. Enjoy and experience the bliss in this video when we sing that very shabad Guru Nanak Dev Ji sung as a teenager. Also, experience the moments when Bhai Rajan Singh leads the whole divan singing a dharna ਨੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ
ਰਖ ਲੈ ਗਰੀਬ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ, meaning, 'I am Yours, Yours, Yours, O King. Save me, seeing me as your humble child!'

  • #312 We All Want to Know Our Future | Sri Nanak Prakash Katha | Bhai Harman Singh
Continuing to tell stories from the Duapur Jug, Guru Sahib Ji talks about Raja Janmeja was a great king. The king asks to know the details of his future. We too wish to know this, but would we be able to accept it or would we try to change it?
"Sri Nanak Prakash is a detailed historical account of the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It was written by Mahakavi (great poet) Bhai Santokh Singh Ji in 1824 (AD), and represents one of the most comprehensive and beautifully written accounts of Guru Ji’s life. It is usually associated as a part of the greater text known as Sri Gurpartap Suraj Granth (aka Suraj Prakash) which details the historical accounts of all 10 Guru Sahibs in poetic form. It is an ocean of bliss, knowledge and experience. It is said that if one listen to the history of the lives of all 10 Gurus through these texts with complete devotion and faith, they can reach enlightenment.
Tune in LIVE on Saturdays & Sundays on Zoom (https://bit.ly/nanakprakash) 7am PST (see the poster on @basicsofsikhi Instagram for other time zones). Listen to the audio recordings of the Katha on our various platforms: https://srinanakprakash.captivate.fm

  • #311 Kreechak's Brothers Seek Revenge | Sri Nanak Prakash Katha | Bhai Harman Singh
Guru Sahib Ji continues explaining the story of Draupadi, after the murder of Raja Kreechak, to teach us that we aren't the only ones who are feeling sad and painful. Angry and wanting to seek revenge, Kreechak's 100 brothers try to kill Draupadi. Guru Sahib Ji teaches us based on karma and the cycle of trying to seek revenge, we ensure many things. It's best to focus on Vaheguru.
