A biology teacher told our guest at the age of 14/15 that she should
think about studying genetics as she seemed to take to it naturally.
That one conversation sparked an area of interest that now sees our
guest, Ashleigh Stanners on the cusp of entering a Masters program that
will incorporate her passion in this space. However, as you will hear in
this episode this was and has not been a smooth pathway. Ashleigh
speaks to us about the first time she faced a panic attack and how that
became a part of her life. She speaks to us about the importance of
having supportive people as you go through your mental well being
journey. Ashleigh also speaks to us about how she gave things a go and
things sometimes worked out and sometimes didn't so she has had to shift her plans but in those shifts she has found some interesting
opportunities. There is lots we cover in this episode, being a head
student, coming from a small communitiy, covid-19, mental health,
alcohol and a whole lot more!
