  • I Bought a 12kg Box of Pipe Accessories — This Was NOT What I Expected

First of all, my apologies - this video recording went all wrong. I forgot to put on the microphone, so it was on a table next to me. I managed to improve the bad sound, but it is not idea. Then the auto-focus broke after i made a close up shot. Hopefully, it won't bother you too much.

I stumbled across a guy selling pipe stands online. Fairly cheap — but then the shipping arrived and it turned out to be a 12kg box. Under 500 kroner all in, which is less than 70 euros. I had no idea what I was actually getting.

What followed was one of the more surprising unboxings I've done. Dozens of pipe pouches lining the entire box, a huge variety of pipe stands ranging from wall-mounted racks to freestanding wooden and metal stands, nine classic pipe tools aamong many others, a collection of Følgesvend tampers (the Danish multi-tool that nobody seems to know exactly what all the parts are for), several rimmers including a Bradbury Rocket Rimmer, wooden tampers, polishing cloths, Georg Jensen pipe bags, Danish pipe club magazines from the early 1970s, Storm P pipe cleaners, and a book about pipes I already own and paid a lot more for separately.

And then — completely unexpected — a BBB 429 Bulldog pipe and a broken clay pipe. The BBB alone was worth more than half of what I paid for the whole box.

If you know more about the Følgesvend tools or recognise any of the stands, drop it in the comments!

    00:03 Intro & what I ordered

01:55 First surprise — a clay pipe & mystery horn piece
05:19 Pipe tools, filters & cigar accessories
07:10 The BBB 429 Bulldog — main surprise
    08:15 The pouches
    09:40 Pipe stands — freestanding
    11:31 Wall mounted racks
13:55 Matches, lighters & polishing cloths
15:31 Pipe cleaners & Danish pipe club magazines from the 1970s
17:00 The Føljesven tools — what are these for?
21:13 More tampers, rimmers & the Bradbury Rocket Rimmer
25:04 Final thoughts & what it all cost

  • Episode #37 | Closing Dick's Box — Gorilla Tape, a Mystery Canadian & a Stanwell

This is the final video from the big lot I picked up from Dick. If you're just joining, episodes 34, 35 and 36 cover the unboxing, the pipe heads and the first two batches of complete pipes.

This time we've got six pipes — and five of them are no names. A possible hand-cut unsmoked pipe with no stampings, a very tall no name with a Bruyère Guarantee stamp and an interesting furnace shape, a beautiful Canadian-style pipe stamped only "Denmark" with a worn-out mouthpiece, a light little pipe that probably isn't even briar, and a no name with bird's eye grain that someone wrapped in gorilla tape as a repair. Spoiler — the tape made things worse.
The highlight is the last pipe — a Stanwell found in its original box, stamped 53 and made in Denmark. It could well be a Stanwell Royal Prince 53. The mouthpiece needs serious work, but the shape is a personal favourite.

If you recognise the Danish Canadian or know anything about the Stanwell Royal Prince 53, drop it in the comments!

    00:51 No Name Red (37-762-1DK)

04:09 No Name Tall / Bruyère Guarantee (37-676-2DK)
05:54 No Name Danish Canadian (37-553-3DK)
    07:46 No Name Cute (37-733-4DK)

  • Episode #36 | Five Estate Pipes From a Cheap Lot — Mostly Scraps, But Still Pipes

Part three of going through the big lot I picked up from Dick. If you haven't seen the previous videos, episode 34 covers the unboxing and episode 35 gets into the first batch of complete pipes.

This time we've got five pipes, and I'll be honest — it's rough going. A no name billiard with a metal plate and a chewed mouthpiece, a Baronet 3 Star with a saddle stem that would be a lovely pipe if it wasn't cracked straight through to the chamber, a Partner Mahogany 401 that barely qualifies as a complete pipe, a Vibel Real Briar that's actually decent underneath the dirt, and a rusticated red bent no name that might just be worth some practice restoration work.
Also in the box — a couple of Alfred Dunhill silicone pipe care cloths and a bag of what look like "Gaden Piber" — street pipes. Cheap everyday pipes, which fits the lot perfectly.
There are still more pipes left — see you in part four!
If you know anything about Baronet, Partner Mahogany or Vibel pipes, drop it in the comments — I couldn't find anything on any of them.

    00:42 No Name Plate (36-333-1DK)

    04:17 Baronet 3 Star 106 (36-213-2DK)
    06:10 Partner Mahogany 401 (36-210-3DK)
    07:37 Vibel Real Briar (36-442-4DK)
09:16 No Name Rusticated Bent (36-643-5DK)

  • Episode #35 | Six Estate Pipes From a Cheap Lot — Any Worth Saving?

This is part two of going through a big lot of estate pipes I picked up cheaply from a guy called Dick. If you missed the unboxing, check out episode 34 first — that's where we found a mountain of pipe heads and mouthpieces.

In this video we finally get into the complete pipes. Six in total, and the standout is an unexpected Stanwell 395 hiding in the mix — sadly with a crack and a chewed mouthpiece, but a Stanwell nonetheless. Alongside it: a Pimpernel Red churchward, a Ben Hur, a Black Prince that barely qualifies as a complete pipe, a no name bent rusticated, and a plain no name briar with a loose stem. There are still twelve more pipes left in the box — those go into the next video.
Drop a comment if you know anything about Ben Hur pipes or the LP stamp — I genuinely have no idea what those are!

    Timestamps:

09:08 No Name Briar Bent (DK35-643-5)
