Here are the index cards, handwritten by audience members at the concert "Piano Improv for #FallOfFreedom". They were asked to share their thoughts on what freedom is. And as you can see, they did share.
On Friday, November 21, Stan Stewart performed a live concert of piano improvisations based on input from the audience about "freedom". In this video, you get to see every index card filled out by the audience based on the prompt of "freedom is..."
The beauty of this video is in its imperfections.
The audio is raw and pulled directly from the livestream of the concert. It includes glitches from the live pull of the performance and the squeaky nature of the sustain pedal.
The video of the "freedom" cards is also raw since the phone camera had a smudge on it and the cards are all "...as is...".
Of course, the piano improvisation is also in this imperfect presentation: live and credible only because a few dozen people heard it in real-time. They know that this is exactly what happened (although with the full bandwidth of ears hearing the actual piano).
Thanks for caring about the future of human freedoms in the face of fascism and erosion of liberties.
Be well. Hug the ones you love.
