Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth promoted the newly-named Department of War and outlined 10 new combat directives to senior military officials gathered at Quantico, Virginia. The new directives involved physical fitness, new grooming protocols and "the highest male standard" for combat roles. "It's completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon and leading commands around the world," said the secretary, adding, "it's a bad look." The secretary, who was introduced by the Joint Chiefs of Staff general, addressed hundreds of generals and admirals summoned from stations around the world. After the secretary spoke, President Trump also addressed the top Pentagon officials.
