Step inside the abandoned "Jungle Book School", somewhere in northern Italy 🐒🐘🦁

This old school stands surrounded by thick overgrown vegetation, forgotten in the Italian countryside. This quaint two classroom school building hides a unique scene; a full wall mural depicting a colourful jungle vista!

Elephants, monkeys, lions, ostrich, rhino and other animals sit between or on the lower branches of simple painted trees. The upper branches of the trees are home to many colourful birds!

Rusted metal desk frames stand in uneven rows, with most of their wooden tops either collapsed or missing. Ferns have taken root in the floor and weave around the legs of the desks.

Here is a music video for Shannon Curtis - One Thread vs control.org mix. Let me first thank the indomitable original artist for not just permission for me to endirtify her gorgeous work, but for participating in my broken VHS deck style AV hijinks as well!

In 2023 I was artistically lost due to health and spoons. Towards the end of the year I thought perhaps a remix would be a low stress way to get back at the studio desk. Shannon and Jamie were lovely enough to let me at the vocal stems of the anthem "I Am" and give it the warehouse thump treatment.

2024 was much worse for me, but I was in love with Shannon's also anthem One Thread and couldn't stop thinking but what if distorted industrial drums? I mic'd up a drum kit for the first time in YEARS and mangled some sample sets I've used in various remixes since.

2025 continued building energy where I designed and built my first live show in over 6 years since my last tour. I've used the guest vocalist on video in various tours and again, Shannon was all in. I forgot to hit record during the live stream concert so here is a music video version!

With the end of the month comes the regular book haul from me - just 4 titles this time, was almost just one. Visited a new bookshop and found some fodder for the hungry content machine.

At the end of this video is my tribute to my mother who passed away the day before this was recorded.

September 2025 saw the return of Richard Osman's crime-fighting team of senior citizens, The Thursday Murder Club, in their 5th outing "The Impossible Fortune". I have been a big fan of the series so far although I found quality could be somewhat uneven.

Another year, another collected volume of the Saga comic. The epic SF/Fantasy story of war, family and politics continues..but is much really happening to drive the narrative forward after over a decade? Will this story ever start heading for some sort of conclusion?

In the fourth of what were supposed to be quick off-the-cuff reviews I look at a magnum opus by paranormal chronicler Joshua Cutchin. Starting with what seem like crazy anecdotes about fictional characters walking in the real world, Cutchin takes a deep look at the power of story and narrative and how it creates our reality and may well be the key to many unexplained events. A real noodle-scratcher this one, I hope my review does it justice.
