In February, not too long after I got my Advanced (Canadian equivalent of Extra) certification, I accidentally discovered a net in Maine and successfully checked into it. I then (less successfully) check into the Maritime Net.

A thrift store find, right after I got the Memorex VCR. This VCR is excellent, and a better example of a Panasonic VCR than that junk unit from Indonesia I got a couple of years ago.

I made my first-ever contact on the amateur radio bands a couple of weeks ago by introducing myself to one of the weekly nets held by the International Repeater Group. Since then I check into almost every net.

Filmed the night I was awarded my callsign, I see if I can make my first-ever amateur radio contact on the local repeater. No luck, but I still made progress as far as learning to call out with my own callsign. Also a look at another Baofeng radio.

A surprise message from a kind and generous local viewer landed me a very unique computer which I haven't even heard of before. More to come on this.

You can tell how long ago this was filmed because I was living in my temporary apartment in the beginning of summer.

I found this in the amateur radio station, and had no idea what it was until I took a closer look at it. In the video touring the station you see me pass by it without a second thought. This is a very unique and rare early PC, and one which I never thought I would ever see.

My name is currently in circulation for this PC. Although I won't hold my breath, I do hope that I can take it.

Why would a Swedish Eurodance outfit pretending to be American rednecks put out a point-and-click adventure game in the mid 90s? Where did it come from? Where did it go? No one truly knows, but it is a stupendously awkward and hilarious glimpse into the fever pitch popularity of Cotton Eye Joe.
