BATMANLAND

The Penguin captures and brainwashes Batman's butler Alfred to be his unwitting pawn for his plan against a wealthy social event. Dan, Fiona, and Nick struggle to understand why.

Riddle me this - why is the fiendish Riddler making a silent film in Gotham starring the caped crusaders? Helping us discover the answer is Ben Law, creator of the SBS series The Family Law. He joins Dan and Nick as they explore the Dogme 95-esque film aspirations of the 1966 Batman TV show.

Ben Law stops in at BATMANLAND for a conversation about Batman that, quite frankly, we're not sure he treated with the respect that it demands. He's welcome back anytime.

This week we discuss the two-part episodes 'The Bookworm Turns'

and 'While Gotham City Burns'. Joining us in the studio is Mark Humphries. He's regularly seen on SBS VICELAND's The Feed.

Roddy McDowall makes his only Batman appearance. And fortunately we were able to book Roddy enthusiast Mark Humphries to gush about the Planet of The Apes star.

It's time to Batusi like an Egyptian and check out the debut of King Tut in this week's Batman - The villainous former History professor is out to create havoc in Gotham City.

Joining Dan & Nick in the BATMANLAND podcast cave this week, digital journalist Chloe Sargeant is more than happy to let her nerd flag fly.

Batusi like an Egyptian. And try not to fall in love.

A wave of senseless robberies by the Joker prove to be part of a plot against a visiting maharajah. Thrilling stuff. Helping you work through the labyrinthine plot and complex emotional journey of the episode are Dan & Nick from SBS, joined by our very special guest star Wenlei Ma - film & TV editor at news.com.au

1966 Batman airs every Friday night on SBS VICELAND and you can stream episodes of the show at SBS On Demand. Watch the show and then listen to the podcast.

Wenlei Ma, the film and TV editor from News.com.au, joins us to make sense of some senseless Joker's robberies. SPOILER: Nobody can make sense of this.

Riddle me this, podcast listener! What’s 32 minutes long and focuses on the Batman episodes The Ring of Wax and Give ‘em The Axe? That’s right, it’s this week's BATMANLAND where hosts Dan and Nick are joined by Glenn Ford. Australian comic book fans will know Glenn well as an artist of countless Phantom comics covers. He’s now recently become a co-owner of Frew Comics, the local company that publishes The Phantom in Australia.
