This is utterly remarkable given Socialism has been a total economic disaster wherever its been tried, and it seems to require the murder of any and all who stand in their way,.Socialist governments murdered over 100 million people in the 20th century, and it's critical to note that the governments that did the murdering don't deny the crimes of the numbers. Even though it's been the most murderous ideology known to man and a complete economic disaster everywhere it's been tried, American politicians are re-branding it as a hip new ideology that's going to provide answers to solve our challenges here in America. Don't buy it. It's never worked or produced anything other than absolute human misery anywhere it's been tried. Donald Trump's speech from the Oval Office on Tuesday was fact checked to death in an effort to discredit him based upon his in ability to be factually accurate. The inference is that those who are intentionally inaccurate are lying and liars are unworthy of holding the office of the President. We agree that all presidents should be fact checked and held accountable, both sides of isle ignore conveniently ignore facts and promote narratives that promote positions and agendas. This is the result of living in a post truth world. In a post truth world, people choose emotions and feelings over facts and evidence and create narratives which promote their positions. They ignore the facts that discredit their own positions while using facts that conveniently discredit narratives that they reject. People who do this are simply attempting to create and control a world that fits their preferences through the use of Power. Friedrich Nietzsche said that in the absence of truth, people would resort to Power to control and influence their world. Power has no concern for kindness or compassion, yet seeks control and influence by any means necessary, even violence. Nietzsche predicted that in the absence of truth, the 20th century would be the bloodiest on record through the use Power, and it was. Without truth, Power could still write the history of the 21st.

We live in a post-truth, post-logic culture and historians tell us that no culture that has rejected concepts of truth and rational thought has survived. A society that rejects the existence of God has no basis for truth, meaning or morality and a culture that lacks that structure can expect chaos to emerge. Friedrich Nietzsche predicted that, as Western Culture denied truth, meaning and morality in the 19th century, the 20th century would be the bloodiest century in history. With multiple world wars, the Holocaust and genocide carried out by Marxist/Socialist governments, more people were killed in the 20th century than all others combined. We now see the resurgence of Socialism in the US, the very same ideology that murdered over 100 million people, and the post-truth society rallies for prominence and control. What does the future hold? It's critical to note that much of the bloodshed of the 20th century happened while the world still held onto objective concepts of truth,meaning and rational thought. If the 20th century was so undeniably destructive before the total rejection of truth, morality and meaning came to pass, what will the 21st century bring now that they have been completely rejected? Will it be bloodier that the 20th? Ideas have consequences and it's why Battleground Ideas exists, to engage in the struggle of the war of ideas.
