December 05, 2023 Tharkad - Wild Things : A BattleTech Short Story | Battletopia Stories
Massive thanks FK.desaster of the NZ BattleTech group for lending his voice to the episode.
This weeks story comes from the fantastic From Jihad Turning Points : Tharkad.
In 3067 the Word of Blake emerged as an imminent threat to the whole of the Inner Sphere. They backed this up by taking several key systems and capital planets from the 5 big powers. One of these was Tharkad, the Lyran Capital World. Skip forward to 3072 and there is liberation in the air.
Will the Word of Blake be defeated or will they hold onto their prize so the normal citizens can see the error of their ways.

First up thank you everyone at Sarna for delivering another great article! Thanks to Nic and Sean for letting me make these official and thank you everyone at Sarna for all your hard work! It truly is the greatest god damm Wiki in the world!
What do you do when you have a problem, that weights in at 35 tons. Comes loaded with an array of lasers and is designed to hunt and kill your scout, support and light mechs. Well simple really isn't it! You make your own hunter killer, meet the Wolf Trap.
On paper the Wolf Trap is fast, well armed and well protected. In the field it performs well (well except against the Clanners) but it has a problem. You are the DCMS and you hate the FedSuns. So when you are forced to use their tech and designs to beat them..it doesn't sit well with your mechjocks. So begins the rumours, the rejections and the eventual demise of a great 'mech.

Whilst I may detest, hate and wish for the eradication of the little buggers, I find their plucky courage (and luck) to be amusing. A great story found on Reddit which I threw together for you guys.

June 15, 2023 The Desolation of Combat - Revisted : A BattleTech Short Story | Battletopia Stories
The year is 3013 and the Draconis Combine have invaded Mallory's World, again. The assault is being spearheaded by the infamous Second Sword of Light, with Yoringa Kurita in charge. Prince Ian Davion lands to drive the invaders back. The battles rage back and forth and Prince Ian is forced to call for reinforcements in the shape of the Kell Hounds. They are a few days out when the Second Sword gain the upper hand and start to drive the brave Davions back. The defenders, led by the Prince lead a rousing combat retreat and fight to the bitter end.
This episode has been released before, but it was missing the extras. Sp I thought it worthy of a revisit and quick tidy up. The audio has been spruced up and I have reworked and tweaked the extras in to help round of the story.
