Nursing homes are back in the news after workers at five different homes in Western New York have gone on a seven-day unfair labor practice strike after not reaching a deal for a new contract Monday night. If you were in a position of power, what would you suggest to attract business back downtown? This topic was spawned by a call from Jim of North Tonawanda yesterday, where he made a historical reference and echoed the sentiment that people are bored by history today and cannot make informed decisions about their future because they don't know enough about the past. Where are you on history? Does history bore you to tears or are you transfixed by any mention of history?

Even during shows where it's not the topic, the changing demographics of the United States continually get mentioned. The U.S. birthrate has been declining, and this decline is not even exclusive to the United States. As far as the United States is concerned, why do you think the birthrate is declining, why are people not having as many kids as they used to, if at all?

There was still some untapped potential waiting to be tapped into with the topic we rounded out yesterday's show with, so we pick up today with any moving horror stories you have and housing horror stories in general, did you buy a home that turned out to be one big money pit? And also, as a side topic, what do you make of the current state of the neighborhood you grew up in? Is it anything like it used to be? Has it gone downhill?
