A searing heat wave grips the Bay Area starting today through much of the week, and many communities are facing heightened fire danger.

In what may end up being a reversal for the Governor, state lawmakers are set to approve a voter initiative for the November ballot that would crack down on retail theft and fentanyl sales.

Recently released data shows enrollment at Bay Area schools has dropped considerably, and it’s expected those numbers will continue to drop as people leave the area for a lower cost of living.

Starting today, it will cost more to cross the Golden Gate Bridge.

Beginning today, California is requiring credit card networks like Visa and Mastercard to provide banks with special retail codes that can be assigned to gun stores in order to track their sales. 

The San Francisco Botanical Garden is closed this morning after a coyote attack last Friday.
