Auburn travels to Baylor in the season opener for both football teams, a game shown on Fox at 7 Central on Friday. Jay Greeson, Chris Lee and Chase Robinson preview the game, with topics including: The line has swung back and forth all summer, but as of Monday, FanDuel favors Auburn by 2 1/2 points with an over-under of 57.5, making for an implied final in of Auburn 30, Baylor 28. Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold and coach Hugh Freeze enter 2025 with much to prove. The Tigers have one of the best receiving combinations in the country in Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton. Coach Dave Aranda’s Baylor Bears bring back a ton of experienced offensive standouts in quarterback Sawyer Robertson, running back Bryson Washington and wide receiver Josh Cameron. Auburn’s defense allowed just 4.9 yards per play last year and is led by future NFL first-rounder Keldric Faulk, defensive back Kayin Lee and a host of other returnees. Baylor’s defense was an issue last year, but the Bears did shave almost a point off of their 2023 scoring defense total.
