When it comes to filming skaters, shop homie Florin @flofilms is the guru. Aside from Bay Street Boards skate videos, Flo's been capturing skateboarding all over for well over 20 years and the proof is in the pudding.

We asked him if we could take a look at his hard drive and were flabbergasted to find hours and hours of footage with hundreds of skaters. From pros to Joes, Flo has captured bangers, bails, and beefs of all kinds on his VX1000.

In Flo's Footy Files, we ask Flo to give us a deep dive into a single clip from the archives -- what went down, who was there, and what shenanigans occurred off camera. In 1973, a group of Venezuelan surfers decided to adventure all around the tropics in search of the best waves. 18 year old Jose Ramon Moreno brought his Super 8 camera and shot reel after reel of empty lineups, wild sceneries and most importantly, perfect waves.

50 years later, the footage was still unseen. The stories were there, but the film was lost in time. Fast forward to last year, when Jose Ramon found a suitcase buried deep in a closet which turned out to be a treasure trove. He found countless Super 8 reels and subsequently had them digitized.

What emerged is a true time capsule. 25 minutes of pure tropical paradise. Vans full of hippies and single fins. Palm trees as far as the eye can see. Uncrowded beaches with immaculate waves.

More than a surf film, Super Ocho 1973 is an anthropological peek into a different era, "when a dollar was a dollar, and a wave was a wave."

Shot and Directed by Jose Ramon Moreno on location in Venezuela, Costa Rica and Tobago. Enjoy!

Hello Hive Community!

Recently, we've been seeing surf-skates taking over the streets!

The shop recently picked up some fresh surf-skates from Basque Country company YOW Surf and we are stoked!! Check out this little video of us cruising on them and check the boards out on our site:

YOW has their own specialty surf-skate truck with a double axis that allows for speed generation by pumping the board rather than pushing. In this way, the boards mimic surfing quite well. Just like in real surfing, you really have to compress and move your whole body to generate speed or pull off big turns. A little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it you can't stop!!

Plus with their sick graphics, YOW boards are pieces of art! We are defintely stoked to be partnered with YOW and hope to make more surf-skate videos soon!

**BAY STREET IN EA SKATE 3?? **

Whats up Hive and 3Speak?!

The Bay Street Boards crew is back giving you a flashback to when the bros were featured in EA Skate!!

They made characters for all the bros, and even had maps for the shop and West LA Courthouse!

Apparently, Skate 4 is actually coming out soon too so maybe this is a demo video??

All jokes aside, we made this video for fun a few years ago when little bro 'Cesco @franchobenti was learning how to edit with Adobe After Effects. Mixed with Sante's antics, it turned out to be a pretty funny video.

This is just a taste of what's ahead -- we've got plenty more new skate and surf videos for y'all coming soon!!
