Tens of thousands of people have crossed from Morocco into the Spanish territory of Ceuta in North Africa - many of them swimming or wading around the border fence. Spanish authorities say dozens of people died trying make the journey - either by drowning or being crushed.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has described the situation as an "attack", blaming human traffickers for deceiving young people. The prime minister vowed to return all illegal migrants to Morocco as soon as possible. Many thousands have already left voluntarily.

Several European leaders have expressed concern, with some promising to tighten border controls. Italy's right-wing Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni described the images from Ceuta as "shocking", and said that "uncontrolled immigration" was a security threat to Europe.

We ask the BBC's southern Europe correspondent Sarah Rainsford what caused the sudden rush of migrants, and what will happen to them now.

Senator Lindsey Graham spent decades as one of Washington’s most prominent foreign policy hawks - a fierce opponent of Russia, relentless advocate for Israel and supporter of Iranian regime change.

Graham’s funeral this week drew the likes of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and both men took the opportunity to meet with Donald Trump in an effort to keep the president invested in the wars that both their countries are fighting.

On today's episode, we speak to the BBC’s Washington Correspondent Daniel Bush and documentary filmmaker Alex Holder, who has rare access to Lindsey Graham to unpack how the late senator helped shape Trump’s foreign policy approach.

About 49,000 migrants have crossed into Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta from Morocco in the last 24 hours, officials estimate.

Videos and photos showed thousands of people swimming into the city on Thursday, while local media reported crossings continuing overnight.

This development comes after Spain's Supreme Court ruled this month that migrants stopped at sea while trying to reach Ceuta or Melilla, another Spanish enclave, cannot be summarily returned to Morocco.

US President Donald Trump says the Board of Peace has reached an agreement for the "complete disarmament" of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza.

A senior Hamas official has told the BBC they have agreed to a plan to completely disarm in Gaza and that an official statement will be released soon. Israel has yet to comment.

Trump said Israel would withdraw from Gaza "as disarmament is completed" and called the agreement "a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government".

The second phase of a US-brokered Gaza ceasefire plan includes the disarmament of Hamas.Subscribe to our channel here: https://bbc.in/bbcnews
