This week on Bakers Bantering, we recap our THIRD WEEK IN A ROW at a live wrestling event after attending WWE Monday Night RAW in St. Louis! Derek hijacks Jenna’s introduction to send a couple shoutouts to Dakota Kai and Becky Lynch. Jenna was in New Orleans taking in her first Mardi Gras experience in the bayou and received multiple calls from some friends informing her that Derek would NOT be happy with the happenings on SmackDown (1:19-6:00). Jenna details her trip from the “mild” Mardi Gras weekend as Valerie calls it. Apparently there was an unflattering float that reminded Jenna of her mom, but Valerie got the last laugh because of Jenna’s failed attempt at eating a tamale for the first time (6:01-12:17). Jenna discovers what a “King Cake” is and the luck that potentially comes with it. She also sparks a debate about who has the second best Mardi Gras (it’s St. Louis) (12:18-15:48). The Super Bowl hype gets built up around our Kansas City Chiefs and the conspiracies involving Taylor Swift and her favorite number. To Ellis’ delight, Derek develops a soft spot for the San Francisco 49ers because one of his favorite Superstars, Bayley, is a big 49ers fan (15:49-19:37). We send our condolences to Toby Keith’s family, and pivot to a lighter note after receiving a very kind, heartfelt email from our new friend Craig down in Georgia (19:38-24:00). We had fans lined up to meet Derek and it absolutely flabbergasted our friend Allison, underestimating Derek’s superstardom. We made some new friends and ran into some old ones. Our pyrotechnician friend Jared from the WWE sent us a special message from backstage. Of course, we sent a shoutout and THANK YOU to our friend, Superstar Drew McIntyre for hooking us up with incredible tickets (24:01-33:26). There was a lot of drama revolving around the current Cody Rhodes/Roman Reigns/The Rock situation. Our girl Maxxine Dupri had a short match BUT she reposted us on her instagram story and that made Derek beam from ear to ear (33:37-45:11). We were the only people in the entire arena cheering on our boy Dominik Mysterio, and he literally gave Derek the shirt off his back. Apparently there’s an opening at WWE for a script writer role, and Jenna thinks Derek would be perfect for it (45:12-59:55). Derek starts off the Weekly Wrestling Wrap Up by informing us of a new wrestler on the AEW roster. Supposedly Chase U might be saved after all, and Derek tells Valerie how to help (1:00:08-1:07:30). Derek gets HEATED about the Damage CTRL drama, and pleads with Becky Lynch and Dakota Kai to help his friend Bayley. Other drama and rumors swirl from the Royal Rumble and for potential matchups for WrestleMania, plus more interesting predictions (1:07:31-1:19:28).
