BBTG Presents

As is the trend with BBTG Presents, we tend to get a lot of Italians coming through, scattered across the country. This time we have mashup artist and DJ Luca Lecce, hailing from the mid-western city of Naples, his main influence and growth has been within the ever growing groove scene that many have grown to love and hate in the past few years.

Blending the old with the new, Luca's mix is the 'short but sweet' playlist that captures what he's been listening to and playing in his sets, as well as delivering the goods with some brand new IDs and tracks you can expect to be released on his imprint, Valodja Records. It's been interesting also for me to hear how differently mashup artists/DJs plan and arrange their sets - compared to producer/DJs - and the way that their mind works when creating mixes.

In the first episode of this new run of BBTG Presents, we give the floor to George Z. Hailing from Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, George has been making some big waves across the scene as of late, particularly with his Groove Basement release 'Slide' with Mr. Sid, and his latest release on Discovery Sounds/Dirty Beats Music, 'OTW' with Latin American producer Luke Nash and Los Angeles based NO_GUESTLIST, in a cross continental collaboration. And that’s just as a producer.

As a DJ, George has developed his technique over a number of years and has been perfecting his blend of diversity and crowd-reading. Having also created live minimixes for the Greek label,’ 'The Groove Lab' as well as being the first guest mixer on 'GM and Friends', headed up by Dominican producer GM. This mix is no outlier to that trend, with three sections, each displaying a different side to George’s sets and blending the three into one cohesive mix, as well as being laced with loads of IDs and exclusive edits that hopefully should pique your interest. Keep your eyes peeled for more from George and from us at BBTG Music.
