On Good Friday the end of hope for those who loved Jesus was etched in stone. Their Christ was dead. The tomb was sealed. All that was left was to mourn.
But we know that is not how the story ends. For the Scripture tells us that God the Father loosed the Son's pangs of death, as He was not able to be held by them. Though on Good Friday we mourn, we also look ahead to Easter Sunday, when the death that seemed so permanent was undone, and the disciples (and our) mourning came to its end.
