We go over the Knicks' most recent loss to a terrible OKC team, recap some of the fights on the main card from UFC 271, and also talk some Super Bowl LVI.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: True or False? Israel Adesanya's first title win came against Robert Whittaker in their first fight against each other.
Well the Knicks made zero moves at the deadline and that is as bad as it gets. The least they could have done was clear rotation minutes for the youth. So we vent on that for a few minutes but also get into their upset victory in Golden State. Big efforts from Randle, Fournier, and the bench helped lift New York despite missing their best player in this one.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: Which current college coach brought the Knicks to the conference semis in the 1988-89 season?
They are the gift that keeps on giving, aren't they? In Denver last night, the Knicks lose another, dropping their fourth consecutive game, falling to 24-31 on the season. That ties last season's loss total with still 27 games to go. The Knicks lacked size and defense in this one. We go over it, break some things down, and talk trade deadline a little later.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: Who was the first team the Knicks ever faced in a postseason round?
So the Knicks lost again... This time around they went up by as many as 21 points only to blow it in the second half. RJ Barrett was outstanding in this game but the same few issues remain and we get to them. Also, Freddie Freeman rumors are surfacing in the Bronx. How real are they? And what could that mean for the Yankees? And lastly, we do some breakdown of UFC Fight Night 200 from last night, running through some of the undercard and then getting to the main event, where Strickland defeated Hermansson in a pretty odd split decision.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: Name at least four double-champions in UFC history.
Sean Strickland (24-3-0) will be going up against the underdog Jack Hermansson (22-6-0) on Saturday night at the UFC Apex for UFC Fight Night 200. I expect a very good and entertaining battle as it's a classic striker vs. grappler. Sean's wild personality is always fun to follow. And Jack is an easy guy to root for. We dive into it this episode with a quick preview. Check it out and enjoy.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: Who was the first ever UFC middleweight champion?
The Knicks fell to the Grizzlies tonight at the Garden. Morant, Jackson, and Williams combined for 70 points together. Meanwhile, the Knicks were sloppy offensively and played poor defense for most of the night. The Grizzlies play at way too fast of a pace for this Knicks team. It was a miserable watch at times. There are some positives about the Knicks right now though. They're getting some excellent contributions lately from certain young players. We break it all down in this episode!
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: Tyson Chandler played with the Knicks for three seasons. In how many of those seasons did he average a double-double? (W/O rounding)
Finally, a complete win. At MSG tonight, the Knicks played well on both sides of the floor and also received some positive contributions from the first and second unit. It's only a win against the Kings--who were without Fox--but we dive into it nonetheless and later get into some trade rumors regarding Fox and Randle.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: David Lee led the 2009-10 Knicks in scoring. Who was second?
The Knicks took another bad loss in Milwaukee last night. Things continue to get worse in the Randle situation. Evan Fournier & RJ Barrett were the bright spots out of the starting lineup. Quentin Grimes shined off the bench. But the pace of the Bucks and slow Knick defense handed them their sixth loss in seven games. Later in the show, Anthony, Mike, and I discuss UFC 270 from last weekend and also analyze some of the big upcoming PPV cards as well.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: The Knicks and Bucks have only faced each other in a playoff series once. What year was that series, which round, and who won?
Earlier today Ian Begley reported a few rumors regarding the Knicks, Thibodeau, and Randle. We discuss it in this episode real briefly and talk about what it could all mean.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: Who was the starting point guard on opening night for the 2014-15 Knicks?
They suck.
NYY-NYK-MMA Question of the Day: For how many postseason rounds have the Knicks played the Celtics in franchise history?
From the publisher's feed
