Richard has been a mental health and substance abuse counselor for over two decades. He recently retired from Menninger Clinic in Houston Texas where he treated both adults and adolescents diagnosed with substance use disorders. We thoroughly discuss what you need to know and look for if you suspect your child of using drugs, or just want to be an informed parent and pro-active on the fight against drug, substance and behavioral abuse.

Amanda Gorman is a recovering marijuana addict and has reached 9 months of sobriety. We discuss the process she has gone through to release the addiction as well as maintain it. The 12 step program and the camaraderie of Marijuana Anonymous and how it gave her the path to her success.

Her story goes from college to her marriage, her kids, Covid and how marijuana fit into it all, up through her therapy and emotional regulation tools to help her manage her life. 

We talk about how she discussed the addiction with her kids and how she will continue to discuss this with her children.
