I just got home from the Jesus Conference with ACTS XXIX, and I can't stop thinking about the opening night. The lights went down and a video filled the room: a packed stadium, roaring, and the crowd was the saints, on their feet cheering for us. Then they passed us the baton.
In this episode, I share what that moment taught me about the communion of saints, and why we're never running this race alone.
In this episode:
A huge thank you to Fr. John Riccardo and the entire ACTS XXIX team for an unforgettable weekend.
Episode 9 was recorded on my birthday, straight from the heart. After a sunrise drive to church, reading at Mass, and breakfast with friends, I'm reflecting on the best year yet: getting to know God, learning how much He loves me, and finally finding what my restless heart was searching for.
I share why St. Augustine's words hit home, what the Rescue Project taught me about the original meaning of "gospel," and why your story is good news worth sharing.
"Come and hear, all you who fear God, while I recount what has been done for me." (Psalm 66:16)
Where did God show up for you this year? I'd love to hear it.
A little teaser for what's coming to St. Gerard in April: The Rescue Project. Fresh off an inspiring rally, I'm sharing what to expect and the four big questions at the heart of it all. Plus a few examples that stuck with me from a previous event: Faith like St. Paul, Hope like Fr. Gabriel Richard, and Love & Hospitality like St. Lydia. Sign-ups are open now, trust me, you'll want your spot!
I took three weeks off. Needed to breathe, and I'm still learning that healing never really ends. I'm back today, a little emotional, a little raw, heading into the one-year anniversary of the night I prayed for the first time in over 20 years, and woke up with an answer. This one's about listening, arguing with God in prayer, and the psalm line that hit me hard this morning: "harden not your hearts."
Episode 5: Pope Leo's August prayer intention is for evangelization in the city, building community in a world marked by anonymity. Nicole shares a conversation at Loaves and Fishes shelter, a reminder from homebound ministry about who gets forgotten. Be kind. Be the example. Be the change. Go be a witness.
Fresh off the Rising from the Ashes Revival in Detroit, over 5,000 people, incredible speakers, and a procession through downtown that I'm still thinking about. In this episode I'm sharing three big takeaways: discipleship and the priority vs. priorities challenge from Jeff Cavins, prayer and friendship in the Lord from Sister Mary Grace, and faith, hope, and love from Fr. John Riccardo. A lot happened in one day, this is my honest reflection on it.
A homily at daily Mass on Matthew 10:16-23 has me thinking about courage, the kind that comes not from having the right words, but from making room for the Spirit. A few honest reflections, and a story from my own life.
Sharing those small and unplanned moments that can be some of the most powerful ways to witness.
