Habits are the actions that play out our thoughts. Have you heard the saying “Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny” by Lao Tzu? 

If we want to change our habits, we have to pay attention to what we do regularly. What we do regularly is guided by what we say, which is guided by what we think. So in order to change habits, it's not enough to just focus on our actions. We have to listen to the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and make sure our thoughts are in alignment with our goals.
