On this first episode of Be Church 24/7, Rev. Richerson discusses what being a pastor's kid taught her about being a pastor, the benefits of serving in many different church staff roles, and being a woman in Baptist ministry.  In what will certainly be a recurring theme for a while,  Rev. Richerson talks about the challenges and joys of adapting during the pandemic, including  her church, Central Baptist (Richmond, VA), implementing drive-in worship.

Brian interviews Pat Dunkley, chair, and Michelle Armagost and Carolyn Harris, representatives, of the WMU (Women's Missionary Union) at CBC.  The WMU is an independent organization associated with Baptist churches which focuses on promoting missions education, encouraging missions support, and fostering missions efforts.  The WMU and the Missions and Ministry Team (see Episode 7) make up CBC's two primary mission "hubs".  Pat, Michelle, and Carolyn discuss a number of different WMU ministry efforts, annual women's retreats at Eagle Eyrie, and annual children's and youth camps at Crossroads.

Brian interviews Danielle Lindgren, chair of the Missions and Ministry Team, a roundtable group which coordinates and initiates a variety of Centerville's community mission work.  This and the Women's Missionary Union (stay tuned for Episode 8) make up CBC's two primary mission "hubs".  Danielle and Brian discuss some M&M projects, an open invitation for new people and ideas, and finding the balance between "doing" and "being" when it comes to ministry.

Brian interviews Diana Tharp, a newer member to CBC who's actively serving God and others in her early years of retirement.  They discuss Detra's Angels (a ministry dedicated to her Mom), volunteering with the Burfoot House (a transitional house for homeless single women), and the ways she thinks about ministry, service, and connecting with the community after retiring from thirty years in the police force.

Brian interviews Faith Powell, deacon chair.   They discuss the shift in deacon ministry in 2020 to become an intentional, regular source of contact to CBC members in the midst of isolation and disconnection.  This interview is a reedit of a recording made over Zoom and posted on Facebook and YouTube this summer.  The deacon ministry continues its routine ministry contacts today.
