The more we love or care about someone, the harder it is to give our honest advice.

Especially when it comes to addiction, relationships, mental illness, or anything related to those topics.

We always feel the need to “soften the blow” but we soften it too much, so much so, that we sometimes dilute the message that needs to be conveyed.

But thinking that we are doing them a good service, we are only giving them disservice.
