In this episode, Charlie Huero talks with Michele Shipitofsky, CEO of Cortney’s Place. Cortney’s Place was founded due to a family (Cindy & Jim Carpenter) who was in need of care for their disabled daughter (Cortney) who was nearing the end of her high school based program when she “aged out” at the age of 22. This resulted in the creation of a day program that is a safe, engaging and innovative environment for disabled individuals who have aged-out of the public school system.
