Be Quiet and Speak Up

Listen Later

Scripture Reading: Habakkuk 1:2-7, 12-14; 2:1-3; 3:2, 16-19

Sermon Focus:  The prophet Habakkuk teaches us that prayer is more than talking to God—it begins with learning to be quiet enough to listen for his voice. Faced with confusion, injustice, and unanswered questions, Habakkuk boldly speaks up, bringing his doubts and concerns honestly before the Lord. As he listens and waits, he discovers that faith is not found in having all the answers but in trusting the God who is at work even when we cannot see it. In Be Quiet and Speak Up, Terry Brensinger (former pastor of Grantham Church) invites us to embrace prayer as a conversation with God that requires both attentive listening and courageous honesty.
