In this episode I talk about the transitions between parenting a child and an adult and the difficulties that come with the changes in relationships. As our roles transform there’s bound to be some friction, rejection from your kid, changes in rules when they come home, and in-law issues can all cause some tension. Here’s my Momma Brye advice from years of experience of parenting plus working with other parents.

Many families have been jolted recently with the news of a rapid deployment of their sons and daughters. Today Elaine talks about her strategies to deal with the stress that comes with that news. She also talks about Afghanistan from the perspective of someone whose family has been intertwined with that region. Her children deployed twice, her husband worked for an Afghan airline for four years, and she also taught in the only coed school in Kabul.
