Salt is a preservative. It can prevent decay and deterioration. In foods, salt brings out flavor and enhances natural sweetness. Light dispels darkness and allows us to see things clearly. In today's message we are reminded that as followers of Christ we are to be salt and light in the world. As salt we hinder the decay of moral values, and add the flavor of love, joy, peace and all of the fruit of the Spirit to a needy world. As light we shine the truth of God's Word to a world covered by spiritual darkness.
