Philippians 2:4 says  "Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus."

In this passage, Paul encourages us to have the mind of Christ each and every day as we navigate the ups and downs of every day life. We are called to love God and love others, while not ruling with selfish ambition, but with the interests of others, specfically Jesus'.

Mentors are called to mobilize and motivate the mentees in their lives. Mentees are called to listen and learn to those mentors in their lives. We see this exercised clearly in Joshua's life with Moses as his mentor, as he prepares him to enter into Canaan.
