Having a doubt or two does not exclude you from the spiritual walk.
Having a doubt or two defines the spiritual walk...even if it is on water.
Surprise! Peter is a great example today: Jesus says, "Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid". Peter immediately does exactly that. He ends up walking on water after asking the Lord to command him to do so.
But then he doubts...He sees the wind. He becomes afraid. Does this sound familiar? If you have ever had a spiritual doubt: Listen 7 minutes. Then subscribe, follow and share.

Perhaps you are afraid today.
Our passage asks you to remember it and respond to its truth: Jesus is Lord over creation and all created things.
For a time, they may be out of whack: Illness, pain, grief, death, sickness, storms.
Yet, all the above are OBEDIENT to the creator, if and when He speaks authoritiatively.
You can take heart in that. You can be fearless in that.

Where you are today may have a bit of weather: inclement weather even. Why? Because creation is answering OBEDIENTLY to its Creator.
When Jesus speaks authoritatively, creation answers OBEDIENTLY.
Oh that we could be as obedient as Nature.
Join me tomorrow by subscribing to this channel. Then go outside and watch the obedient natural world.

Even Jesus prays. That is, He fights to have fellowship with the rest of the Trinity.
He fights for a time and a place and for the right situation.
It is a good example for us. It is a call for us to do the same. It is an encouragement and might be a bit of a rebuke.
If Jesus fights so hard for fellowship with God, we probably should too.

If you have ever felt, "I don't have enough!" you are probably right. That is the point. It is also the opportunity.
Here is the math equation for today:
What I have + What Jesus has = enough
It is actually MORE than enough.
The amazing thing though is that He wants us to participate in the "making of the enough." Join me for 7 minutes to see if you are ready. If "you don't have enough", you probably are.

We have a wonderful outdoor summer music pavilion nearby. If you load up the seats and the lawn, you get about as many people in our story today. (15,000!) There is only one problem: nobody remembered to bring dinner.
Join me as we hear the challenge of Jesus to the disciples: What resources do you have to bring to bear on this situation? Their first answer must have been: "We don't have anything." Listen for just 7 minutes and see if this is true.

There is something that just doesn't quite fit right about death. There is a reason for that.
The shoes of death don't quite fit. The reason is that those shoes were NEVER MEANT to fit. We aren't suited for death. We aren't built for it. And yet here we are in a world and a body of decay.
Spend 7 minutes of your precious time to explore with me why the shoe of death don't fit and what God is doing about it on our behalf. Re-post with another minute of your time.

The French have a saying appropriate to this podcast that translates, "It is FORBIDDEN to FORBID." They are apparently not big fans of rules. Neither was our anti-hero Herod.
When confronted with something that should have been forbidden; something he should not have been doing, he does what anyone would with unlimited power: He cut the guy's head off. Literally. Then served it on a platter to a teenager.
We might hazard a question then: Can what is forbidden be forgiven? Tell me if you think we make it to this answer.

Herod is rebuked by John the Baptist for his lust and marriage to his brother's wife. When John the Baptist teaches that it "Is not lawful for you to have her", a whole cascade of events begin. It results in John's head being served on a platter.
So, some desires we have are not lawful from the One who gives us the moral law in the first place.
Join me for 7 minutes to hear of a crazy family story that is probably crazier than even your family story.

Everybody gets a crack at belief in Jesus, even people from His literal hometown.
They start with astonishment, which means they have been paying attention. But, they drop the ball in failing to do the hard work of the soul. Belief is the hard work of the soul. Unbelief is even harder.
Because Jesus has come to your door today, give me 7 minutes:
