  • I’m Sorry For Your Loss S18e1 Titus1:4

When one goes to a funeral we console those who are the children and the grandchildren of the person who dies. Similarly, there are spiritual children and grandchildren that could be consoled when their spiritual parents die.

Paul calls Titus such a person: my spiritual CHILD. Paul writes a letter to his spiritual son and of course includes all the good stuff. We have that letter! It is here for us to listen-in on! We hear the heart of a spiritual father to his spiritual son. Paul is a person  who when he died, some astute person went to TITUS and said, "I'm sorry for your loss."

Join me over the next couple of weeks as we glean what we can from the interception of this letter. If it is not a profitable enterprise for your attention, I will return your money. subscribe by writing at [email protected] Listen on apple google podcasts or Spotify

  • My FAVORITE THINGS In 1 Timothy S17e34

Join me for a 7 minute romp through my FAVORITE THINGS in chapters 1-3 of 1 Timothy.

Here's just one: The church uniquely, and most clearly manifests Him, for it is the assemblage of the indwelt of God. Because He has given us the household of the living God (3:15), to rip yourself out of the hands of fellowship is to rip yourself out of the hands of God.

Another early favorite: We want pastor/teachers who have studied the Word and are STRUCK with their own sin; SHATTERED by exposure to Him; and SILENCED.  We then get Pastors with their hands over their mouths. These men make the best teachers. (3:2) Bewithme.us Follow on Facebook

  • O Timothy, GUARD! S17e33 1tim6:2

Paul gives Timothy a final CHARGE but it is with a HEART. O Timothy...

GUARD what you have been entrusted. Value it. Protect it.
Guard the DEPOSIT. It has been imparted to you. You have been trusted with it.
Don't SWERVE. Stay on the path. Don't turn.

This is serious business. Guard the treasure you have and don't turn from it. Too, entrust this with others who later will entrust this to others. Repeat as necessary.

  • The TRUTH About RICHE$ $17e32 1tim6:18

    Riches are:

    • temporary. There will be none as we know it in the next life.
    • uncertain. Moth, rust, theft and unknown returns on investment.
    • haughty-factories. Riches can separate us from people because they can cause us to say "I am above you". Christianity is all about serving.
    • competitive. For our HOPE that is.

The Truth about rich people is they should:

    • be RICH, but in good works. Abound in justice and love and action
    • be GENEROUS. In reality. With an actual open hand. Be known for it.
    • be READY to be generous. In MIND. In attitude. In a mental posture.

This is how you TAKE HOLD of the truth about RICHES

  • How’d I Get To Be Immortal? S17e31 1tim6:16

You are 100% immortal.  You will live forever.  How did you get to be that way? Well, the God who created you had to have the capability  to make you that way.  He had to be immortal. You are immortal because the Immortal One gave it to you.

I know that death and funerals and decay are a part of this world we live in.  We weren't created that way, but it came with the curse.  But, that status is temporary and death is going to be defeated in the end.  We are all 100% immortal and will live with God immortally, or without God immortally. We have something to say about that. Listen 7 minutes to find out what. Subscribe at bewithme.us or write [email protected]

  • IMMORTAL=Death-less-ness S17e30 1tim6:16

God is a bit ironic.  Jesus knows no sin, yet was viewed as having sin so He could take  the penalty for sin away for all believers.  That's in 2 Cor 5:21. Similarly, He is the only IMMORTAL.

Immortal means deathlessness. He is immortal yet, He takes on death so we don't have to experience death in its' fulness. We have a deathless God who is known to have born death for us.  We have an IMMORTAL God who is known to have born mortality for us.

We are going to worship Him for this reality for a long long long time; let's say immortally! Bewithme.us

  • Don’t Be That Guy S17e29 1tim6:14

Christ is perfect and in the end, no one in heaven or hell will have a single criticism about Him.  However, until then, what we do HERE affects His reputation.

What I do now can affect what people think about Jesus. My words and actions influence what people think about Jesus.  My behavior at home, work, and in the church can positively or negatively reflect on Jesus' reputation.

Let's be well-thought of now so that Jesus is well-thought of until that day comes. Don't be that guy, or gal, that makes people reproach the name and Person of Christ.

  • FLY, You FOOLS! S17e28 1tim6:11

In an epic battle of Gandolf vs. Balrog in Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien warns through Gandolf's parting charge, "FLY YOU FOOLS!" Aarogon, Frodo and his company then run for their lives. Certain evils are best fought by taking flight.

Similarly, Paul warns Timothy to FLEE certain things.  Why? To live to fight another day; to be free to fight other battles, and to follow after the good stuff.

Join me for 7 minutes as we listen to these two giants of the faith.  Both say, "FLY YOU FOOLS!" bewithme.us Apple Podcasts, Spotify, google podcasts, audible, instagram, Pinterest, etc.

  • Sticking Yourself With A Fatal Needle S17e27 1tim6:10

Nobody wants to pierce themselves with a fatal needle-stick. But that is exactly what those who have the love of money; who crave it are doing TO THEMSELVES.

Let's not let money be an ultimate desire. If we let it, it will have to displace other desires such as love of the Lord.

Listen 7 minutes for the revelation of a surgical-suite-secret about potentially fatal needle-sticks. It will apply to our desire to be rich.  bewithme.us Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
