  • Things That COUNT S14e14 Phil3:7

Do you have a mind for others?
Do you have a similar mind as others?
Do you have the mind of Another?
Do you have the mind of Christ?

For these are the THINGS THAT COUNT.
Listen LESS THAN 7 minutes as Paul counts a few things NEGATIVELY, and some precious things POSITIVELY.  It is indeed NEW MATH. New Spiritual math.

  • Next Gen Christianity S14e13 Phil2:22

We are not the first generation of Christianity.  We are probably not going to be the last.

QUESTION: How will we get the next generation of Christians ready for getting the generation after them ready for getting the generation after them ready for getting the generation after them ready?

ANSWER: Paul and Timothy. Listen 7 minutes to the charge for the multi-generational church. It is a mutually encouraging relationship. It is the model for serving the church now and after you go to heaven. Find such a person or two. Honor them, see them, write to them, serve them. Take 'em to lunch.

  • God Exalts Jesus S14e10 Phil2:9

God highly exalts Jesus. On one hand, it seems weird. On the other, perfectly reasonable. Jesus should be being exalted.  Nobody disagrees with the rightness of His worship, not even the other Persons of the Godhead.

Teaching point: If God thinks this worthy; thinks JESUS WORTHY to exalt, then we best follow the Father's lead.  We should be exalting.

Today, many disagree with elevating Jesus even to the point of misusing His name disrespectfully. In the end, every knee will bow. Every single one. Join me for 7 minutes today as we agree with God and exalt Jesus. Agree tomorrow by signing up at bewithme.us or Apple Podcasts.

  • Good Friday Ant Rescue Mission S14e9 Phil 2:7

Jesus comes on a rescue mission to humanity by becoming human.  To do so, He lays aside a few things to squeeze into human form.

He comes all the way down to poverty, hunger, work, bodily limitation and even death.  Why? Because this is the only way that we could "hear" Him.  The rescue required the humiliation, the humanity and the humbleness.

May the good Lord forgive, but we'll use a story about ANTS to try and illustrate this high theology concept. Please listen 7 minutes today and then tomorrow by leaving an email at bewithme.us or Apple Podcasts.

  • You Are In My Bowels S14e8 Phil2:1

Paul has a wonderful description of people of the church that we might say, "I have you in my HEART." 2000 years ago, the description was IMHO slightly better: "I have you in my BOWELS. You are in my GUTS.  I carry you in my VISCERA." It is a wonderful, memorable description of the church.

How did we get there?  What lies at the foundation of the warmth of carrying people around inside your intestines? Spoiler alert: It is people who borrow the mind of Christ.

  • ONE MIND Philippians S14e7 Phil1:27

We are going to need to be of ONE MIND. Why? Because things are going to be tough.  There is going to be stuff that tries to knock us off our standing; circumstances will be scary; there will be some suffering. Being a Christian is not for sissies.

We are to be standing shoulder to shoulder with others, contending together like one big army.  Who are our compatriots? Those of like-mindedness.  They are those who agree with us on the fundamentals of belief.  They are those who hold to the faith.

They are those of whom we are of ONE MIND. listen 7 minutes and please subscribe for tomorrow.

  • Being With You Is My 2nd Choice S14e5 Phil1:20

In desperate circumstances, Paul prioritizes the HONOR OF CHRIST. If that is in life here, then he will face it with FULL COURAGE. He MAN-UPs; he doesn't GIVE UP, he GETS UP.

But that is his 2nd choice. His first is to "DIE". That's right, Paul wants to "die". You can only do this with excellent theology.  That is, no one you know here will ever die.  Everyone you know will live forever. Everyone goes on living either WITH HIM there in heaven or goes on living WITHOUT HIM in hell.

If he lives, then he Man-ups, doesn't give up and gets up with full courage.
If he "dies", then it is BETTER, it is great Gain, it is Being With Him.

Meantime, if today is not that day for you, go to BeWithMe.us and subscribe to help you MAN-Up spiritually for tomorrow. Apple, google Spotify podcasts.
