This week, Kyle Anne and Shelby decide to chill, make come cocktails, and have a free-form conversation sans special guest! They address why they've been slacking on podcast things and talk a little bit about what's been going on in their personal lives, including some unusual gigs for Kyle Anne and Shelby's son's 2nd birthday party. The conversation shifts towards the difficulties of staying creative while mom-ing. Kyle Anne acknowledges how lucky she feels to have the time to fulfill her creative side (although that hasn't been the case lately), while Shelby often struggles to make time for her art. The girls get raw about their creative process and their normal routine, and Kyle opens up a little bit about her painful past struggles with work and music. They wrap up the episode by speculating on whether or not Queen Elsa will have a female romantic love interest in Frozen 2 and finishing up their tiki cocktails!

After giving a shoutout to thier new patrons and New York listeners, Kyle Anne and Shelby talk about an interesting article they found on IFLScience about a teenger who consulted Reddit on how to get vaccinated as a minor when his mother, an anti-vaxxer, won't let him. The issue of consent is always a thought provoking one. They move on to talking about their crazy busy week and how friend their brains are as a result, before introdicing their MILF of the week, Chloe Darragh! Chloe is an Air Force Veteran who lives in her van and decided to become a Doula after experiencing a miscarriage. Chloe is a remarkable woman who's infectious positive energy has benefitted her in so many ways, particularly when it comes to assisting mothers give birth. She recounts all kinds of amazing stories about the incredible births she's attended, both inspiring and harrowing, and talks about the benefits of contracting the services of a Doula. Sometimes the support of another woman who's on your level spiritually is necessary to guide you through the process of giving birth, and Chloe discusses that at length. They end the episode with Chloe talking about some exciting professional developments in her life!
Special Guest: Chloe Darragh.
Kyle Anne starts off by talking about her newfound obsession with Zelda: Breath of the Wild and giving a shout out to all the new listeners from New York and Chile (?). From there the girls dive right in to a deep discussion about the New York state Abortion Law Amendment, which protects abortion providers and ensures that women in New York can still get the procedure despite what might happen to Roe v Wade at the federal level. The amendment seems to have sparked controversy on social media, giving anti-choicers the idea that women will be having late term abortions all over the place (Spoiler alert: less than 1% of abortions occur after the 24 week point ya dinguses). Shelby recounts heartbreaking stories of women who have been forced to have a late term abortion procedure due to severe fetal abnormalities, despite wanting desperately to have a child. From there they move on to their conversation with Ashlie, their MILF of the week! Ashlie talks about her experiences as a single mom, and how simultaneously difficult and rewarding it can be. She hasn't had it easy, and has been through some pretty tough shit. She was duped into motherhood, her own mother wasn't supportive of her choice to become a mom, and she had an abusive boyfriend, but she handled each challenge with grace and has come out more strong and confident than ever. Motherhood has made her feel like she can handle anything, and she's even founded her own outreach group for fellow single moms on top of working full time and raising her beautiful son.

This week, Kyle Anne and Shelby read a really wonderful review from one of their friends and talked a little bit about their week before discussing "The Gillette Ad." Having a son, Shelby considers the topic especially relevant, and talks about how some men misconstrue the idea of toxic masculinity as an attack on masculinity in general. (Spoiler Alert: It isn't ya dinguses.) Kyle Anne shares some of her research on the topic (That she got entirely from CSPAN, naturally) and they agree that they love man and acknowledge that men have their own unique set of problems. However, that doesn't mean we shouldn't call out problematic behavior and expect better. Shelby and Kyle Anne then move on to the interview with their friend and local tattoo artist Ananda Warrick about her hollistic (aka Crunchy) approach to parenting. Ananda recounts her difficult birth story that spanned over two days, and included back labor and a "Sweeping of the Water," and how she felt like she didn't have a lot of control. This lead her to devour as many alternative parenting books as she could get her hands on, and it ultimately helped her strengthen her bond with her son post-partum. Ananda thoughtfully explains her views on vaccinations and her breastfeeding relationship, and really opens up about her struggle with conceiving and her subsequent miscarriage. About 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, so there's no reason why women shouldn't talk about it. She hopes that being open about it will make other women experiencing the same thing feel like it's not their fault and that they're not alone in their struggle. Ananda attributes her resiliance though that experience to her connection to the universe and her spirituality. The conversation shifts to Ananda's creative process when designing a tattoo and how her spirituality plays into that. Kyle Anne shows off the work she's gotten from Ananda in the past, and they talk about how Ananda strives to imprint positive energy onto every tattoo she works on with each client. They wrap it up by talking about Ananda's exciting upcoming music and art projects!

Shelby and Kyle Anne dive right in and talk about a Facebook post made by a New Orleans based body positive burlesque dancer and comedienne. Jade Patton, in her post that has thousands of shares, talks about her experience being a plus sized dancer in what is often a toxic environment for larger women, from consistently having photographers taking thoughtless, lazy photos of her act to dealing with the barage of negativity concerning body image in the dressing room from her peers. After discussing the real plight of body dysmorphia and fatphobia even within the plus sized community, Shelby talks about her dream burlesque act (TW: It involes lots of blood and writhing) and Kyle Anne speculate on what their burlesque alter ego's would be like. Then the girls welcome their #milfoftheweek, Frankie Colt! Frankie has been a step mom to her "Noodle" since Noodle was two and a half, and she talks about their loving relationship built on unicorns, arts and crafts, and lots and lots of glitter (of course). Frankie prides herself on having an honest and open relationship with her stepdaughter, and deeply treasures their special bond, exemplifying the fact that you don't have to be blood related to be family. They wrap up the episode by talking about some exciting upcoming events, so be sure check out Frankie's social media pages (and ours!)

After Shelby and Kyle Anne clear up a little mishap from last week and share some listener feedback, Kyle Anne talks about her foray into online bra shopping. Apparently, it takes an architect and advanced engineering to create a decent bra for women with large titties, Kyle Anne finds out. Shelby shares some thoughts on the news that gender neutral birth certificates are now available in some states, giving parents the option of chosing the "X" option as opposed to M or F. Then they turn the conversation towards their guest for the episode, Shelby's sister Monica, who has remarkable insight from being a cancer survivor and teen mom. Monica exudes strength and resilience as she discusses what it was like surviving hodgkins lymphoma, having a child at age 17, enduring a physically abusive marriage, and being diagnosed with a rare heart condition, heart noncompaction. They end the conversation on an uplifting note, with Monica gushing about her beautiful life with her loving second husband and their children, and Shelby and Kyle Anne making plans to take a pole fitness class with Monica in the future. Stay tuned for what will inevitably be hilarious video footage!

After Kyle Anne and Shelby introduce themselves, they dive in with their personal experiences with the fourth trimester, which includes Shelby's gnarly description of what it's like to have a C-Section! They both had stress and anxiety post-partum (Surprise? NOT.) and they talk about the intense and conflicting feelings of being simultaneously stoked and horrified about being a new mom. After Kyle Anne shares her research about diet culture and eating disorders, she and Shelby talk honestly about their relationship with their post-baby bodies. Even though they both struggle with their body image, they talk about how they learned to accept how drastically their bodies have changed and how to project confidence in their dope #mombods. They wrap up the episode with an in-depth review of the Netflix movie Dumplin', starring Danielle MacDonald, Jennifer Aniston, and Shelby's favorite Drag Queen, Ginger Minj!
