Pollution is the degeneration of the natural environment by external material introduced directly or indirectly and that is why the ecosystem, the biodiversity on earth, and human health can be damaged and altered permanently by pollution.

Pollution happens when ecosystems cannot get rid of substances introduced into the environment and it is not possible to naturally eliminate substances and the balance of the ecosystem is broken. The causes of pollution are diverse and they can come from the result of human activity such as nuclear accidents, chemical and oil spills, or natural disasters. These can have terrible consequences on the places and on people, for example, the destruction of biodiversity, increased mortality of the human and animal species or destruction of natural habitat among others.

As a possible solution, we should help to eliminate the existing pollution as well as anticipate and prevent future pollution sources in order to protect the environment and public health. Moreover, any environmental damage must be punishable by law, and polluters should pay compensation for the damage caused to the environment.
