Thomas: Good morning everyone, my name is Thomas, I am the leader of the new school program ‘Save the earth’ this is a new project we have developed with a group of students and teachers in order to raise awareness about and I want to give you some tips to save the environment if you want to join us, our meetings are on Tuesdays in the afternoon at the teacher’s lounge.
Teacher: Welcome Thomas, so… how can we save the environment?
Thomas: Well, I’d like to start by explaining to you about saving water.
Teacher: That’s interesting, how can we do that Thomas?
Thomas: We basically can avoid using too much water when we are doing daily activities such as washing dishes, taking a shower, or doing the laundry.
Teacher: It’s a good idea, it is also important to ask your family to save water too. What else?
Thomas: You are right, teacher! Littering is also something we can prevent. Sometimes we eat something outside, so it is a good idea to keep the garbage until we get home or maybe until we find a trash can to throw it. It is not difficult to prevent the streets from being dirty, is it?
Teacher: Not at all. Are there any final suggestions?
Thomas: Recycling is a good idea! Lots of trees are being cut down to make paper, it is harmful to animals and forests, so we shouldn’t waste paper. Teachers can also use recycled materials to make things and handicrafts. They can also teach their students the importance of reusing things instead of throwing them away!
Teacher: That’s a great idea. Well, thanks Thomas for your ideas.
