Gary Oldman was born in 1958 and grew up in England. He went to a public school but at the age of fifteen, he had to give up because he needed to work. He decided to start acting in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He participated in several performances in England as in the US. He was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Then, he moved to New York where he lived for seven years.

Since then, Oldman has performed with different directors such as Francis Ford Coppola, Tony Scott, and Bernard Rose. In 1991, he participated in the film Heading Home which was directed by David Hare. Oldman has gotten different awards (International Festival of Edinburgh, BAFTA , Empire Award among others).

Oldman has spent most of his life living between London and New York but he hasn’t only spent his time working. Since 2005, he has participated in Batman’s series. He has become an icon in the films industry.
