Without the kind of love that Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 13, a person will amount to nothing, even if they are the best looking, smartest, richest and most faithful. How can this be?

People often say that God will not give us more than we can bear, but the Bible teaches something completely different. Also: should Christians seek to avoid offending people, should we not worry about that at all?
God is our refuge and shelter and stronghold. Does this mean that we will be protected from all harm? Were the great saints of the Bible completely protected because of their faith?
