God’s angels are messengers carrying out his will, which includes the protection of people. In the Old Testament the evidence of protecting angels is frequent. Deacon Harold highlights more on this special observance and also looks into Soulful Psalm 49:19-21

The Gospel tells us what Christ expects from each of us as his followers: to do our duty as faithful servants. Sometimes this means being unpopular. It was not until the dawn of the modern age, which in the popular mind signaled the rise of reason and progress, that pride ceased to be chief among the Seven Deadly Sins, despite its having long since been designated as such by Christian usage. In fact, the whole idea of sin itself as a grave affront to Almighty God was pretty much replaced by wrongdoing as an offense against others, especially the poor and marginalized. In the Transfiguration, the glory of Christ was revealed on Mount Tabor. Where citizens are oppressed by a public authority overstepping its competence, they should not protest against those things which are objectively required for the common good; but it is legitimate for them to defend their own rights and the rights of their fellow citizens against the abuse of this authority, while keeping within those limits drawn by the natural law and the Gospels. Like many of our brothers and sisters today who are suffering tremendous persecution and who are dying rather than deny Jesus Christ, Saint Andrew Kim Taegon and his companions suffered greatly for their faith, and were martyred by decapitation. Even in the midst of such terrible affliction, they did not stop preaching the Gospel; they did not stop proclaiming the Truth.
