Should we celebrate Reformation Day? If so, how?

Ligonier puts together a survey every so often that is really helpful in spotting trends in our culture, both secular and among the church. Well, the latest State of Theology results are in and we have some things to talk about. In this episode, I'll react to and discuss what "Christians" are thinking about our natural state before God. Are we, as humans, innocent or guilty before God?
While I certainly advocate for and am excited by fishing for men...fishing for fish can be disgusting at Patterson Lake. But, someday Dickinsonians might just get to enjoy those park passes for more than 30 minutes before the blue-green algae take over.
More importantly, Let's talk briefly (and less graphically) about the book again. Particularly about the meeting about the book. What's your motive? What is the heart behind your anger with the book and its advocates?

WARNING: SOME EXPLICIT CONTENT BEGINNING AROUND THE 14 MINUTE MARK.
We've gained a lot of new members and attendees this year, which is wonderful, but there's a chance not everyone is in the know. So I'll attempt to lay out some of what's going on currently throughout the week at the church.
The main topic of today is from an article published last Wednesday in the Dickinson Press. The article outlines a controversial and really, sinful, book that is likely to make its way onto the shelves of the Dickinson Public Library in the future. This book is extremely sexually explicit. It has figures and drawings on its pages to visually demonstrate the content within. And the audience targeted is your teenager. So...what are we to do about this book?
We must pay attention to the character and teaching of those we allow to influence us. This is a video of Rick Warren defending himself, not by addressing the issue that had been brought up, but by pridefully listing all of the accomplishments he's had, because of the SBC, and giving zero credit to God.
What happens when you forgive? And what must you forget? We learned from Matthew 18:21-35 that we have no right to an unforgiving heart, but how does that play out with relational reconciliation? Hopefully, this helps a bit.
A bit more about church discipline and its effects, as well as a walk-through of some pastoral junk mail.
Some thoughts on the tragedy in Texas and a quick theological breakdown of the latest Dr. Strange movie.
