BEARS COUNTRY PODCAST

Game one started off really well, then once again the wheels fell off. Ben Johnson learned from his first game as Head Coach. Let's remain optimistic and try not to overreact. The Defense was missing 3 starters and gave up 27 points. The team will improve when the Defense gets healthy.

The Chicago Bears trimmed their roster to 53 on Tuesday and decided to keep RB Roschon Johnson. Johnson is not a bad player, but he did not touch the ball at all in the preseason. In fact, we've heard nothing about him through training camp. Was this the correct move? Plus, we discuss all of the other roster moves.

The Bears did Tyson Bagent right by giving him a 2 year, 10 million dollar contract extension, and he understandably got emotional during his press conference. Tyson worked his tail off and he deserves every penny! The Bears kicked the Bills butts last Sunday night and now they are off to hopefully do the same to the Chiefs! Plus....Let's talk about our division opponents. Are they really as good as they were last season?

Last Pre-Season, Ian Wheeler was extremely impressive before he tor his ACL. We all saw Ryan Poles heartache on Hard Knocks when he informed him the team believed in him and was going to retain him to rehab for 2025. Well Ian Wheeler is BACK and he was just impressive in this Pre-Seasons opener. The Bears need his skill set and his speed. We are ALL rooting for him to make the team. Let's do this Ian!

The Bears first 2025 preseason game is this Sunday. This is where we witness the transpiration of roster depth. It's not a 22 man roster. It is a 53 man roster. Lets enjoy the process! The Dynasty begins with Ben Johnson's first official "game" this Sunday!! Bear Down!! FGB! FCM! FAR! & LCBC!

The Chicago Bears drafted three (3) players in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and none of Luther Burden III, Ozzy Trapilo, or Shemar Turner have signed their contracts. While this issue is not specific to the Chicago Bears, the fact that three (3) high-drafted players are not yet under contract may not sit well with some.

OTA's will soon be done and training camp is just around the corner. The Chicago Bears are one of the most targeted teams in the NFL. The National media and the local media LOVE to find anything and everything they can to try to tear them down. Even when their Rookie QB throws for 3541 yards, 20 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. The Ben Johnson effect is starting to take stride. This is the year the Bears should FINALLY be able to silence those critics. #BEARDOWN! #FGB #FCM
