a good series for low-level readers
As an 8th grade teacher with most of my students reading well below grade level, I am always on the hunt for high school stories written at the elementary school level in order to get my reluctant readers to READ. This series wins half the battle with cool cover art. The topics are engaging, the story lines aren't too complicated, and my low readers can feel proud to carry a cool looking book to class.
Great short read
Short story, but worth reading. All pre-teen and up girls should read this book. Also read a few other of this authors short stories, all are very good.
Whom i would recommend this book to is.....
I would recommend this book to my friends Avalon,Felicity,Camille,and Naomi because this book is so good it made me cry because it is sad for a teenager to be beaten like Paige and after i read this book i know what kind of guys to look for and after my friends would read it they would probably think th same thing :(
That book was so juicy.
So good for people to realize that its important to not put you hands on people. Or you might end up like Paige.
Violence in dating
This 98-page novel in the "Surviving Southside" series will appeal to middle school teens, particularly reluctant readers. Popular cheerleader Paige (back cover states her name is Keah...) and star football player Ty get together and are thought to be the perfect couple. When Paige notices Ty's violent tendencies, she pushes her worries aside. But when Ty hits her, he is arrested. Still she wants to be with him.
