About Chklte: As much a confectioner on the decks as he is in the studio, CHKLTE plays with a detailed delicateness that defies his towering stature. With vibrant, seductive blooms and deep, syrupy booms, his subtleties climb into the ear like tendrils. Influenced by his family’s involvement in music in Mexico City, a zealous 15-year-old Jonathan Lopez started sneaking into South Texas to DJ clubs after only a year of studying YouTube tutorials. Six years later, he arrived in Austin and joined forces with local movers and shakers Movement Collective, which opened doors for the rising star to play alongside both veterans and newcomers of the music community. After two years with the collective, Jonathan branched a solo project to showcase local and international artists, up-and-coming as well as established, curating minimal, techy, and funky sounds for his listeners. His label and podcast, Crowded Floor, celebrated its two-year anniversary in 2017, and in that time, CHKLTE also started running A&R for Unscene Records.

The move from Jonathan Lopez to “CHKLTE” spurned a series of monthly releases throughout 2016 and 2017 on labels Tympanic, Unscene Records, Beatamin Recordings, Aquasound, and Denied Music. When he wasn’t producing, he played with MyBeatFix at WMC (2013), and since becoming an Austin resident, continues to be a regular guest at much respected local venues Plush, Kingdom, and Ethics. CHKLTE still revisits the trail he set in San Antonio, the Rio Grande Valley, and Mexico, as he also begins to venture to Vancouver, Denver, New Orleans, and soon relocating to Berlin in the spring of 2018— playing alongside world–renowned artists such as Lamache, Robin Ordell, Mihigh, Archie Hamilton, Priku, Andrey Pushkarev, Faster, Sepp, Vincentiulian, Varhat, Giammarco Orsini, John Dimas, Oshana, Chad Andrew & Hector just to name a few. With the same immense drive, he had as a teen; CHKLTE continues to chase new horizons. - Berlin, Germany

It is pretty obvious why Primărie plays music, his purpose is to raise the frequencies all around and to bring in good vibes. Given his abilities to translate various influences, from his Romanian roots to his years as a Berliner, he is making people dance, meditate and heal themselfs through the power of the groove and high frequency vibrations. It's hard to describe in words the positive vibe flooding the crowd at any of Primărie's gigs.

Playing marathons at infamous after-parties, presenting his groovy sound in small packed clubs, inducing smiles on underground dance floors. Constantly searching for the perfect rhythm, Primărie managed to capture the hype around the Romanian electronic wave into his own label: Tzinah Records. No artistic bullshit, no experiments, just tunes covering a huge territory between techno and minimal house, designed for the most pretentious dance floors!

Being a good A&R, Primărie gathered many unreleased tunes mesmerizing his sets. With various electronic influences it is pretty hard to tag Primărie's house & techno style, though his sound is powerful enough to make a statement on its own.
