Beatnik Turtle's Song of the Day

Let's face it, there needs to be a song about Traffic Cones. This is that song. Find out more about them at The Traffic Cone Preservation Society. Though our song says traffic cones don't make good pets, this site disagrees.

The song Finnegan's Wake is believed to have been composed in the mid 1800s and served as the basis for the James Joyce novel of the same title. This week's song is our rendition of Finnegan's Wake which we recorded as part of our RPM Challenge 2008 album, Sham Rock.

This one was inspired by many of our workplaces, and the game Cube Farm, by Cheapass games. It's the first demo of the song, recorded at the cabin in Wisconsin.

Another version of this song was released on our Cheapass Album, and yet another will be on our live album.

We wanted to write notes about how we wrote this song, but unfortunately, it's another thing we'll never do.

Girls! Women! Birds! Chicks! This song's about all the pretty girls out there (and you know who you are) and celebrates each and everyone of them. As the song says, it's not a man's world that spins 'round, it's a pretty girl's playground.

Most of Beatnik Turtle has some form of ADD and - HEY, look, a monkey!

We did it! 365 songs in 365 days. And this last song is not so much goodbye as see ya later. In fact we'll see ya tomorrow (The Song Of The Week).

Merry morning after Christmas. Although it's stated in the song, we don't advocate leaving the ornaments on the tree and pretending it isn't over when in fact it is. See Take It Down, particularly the line "lazy son of a bitch" for more info.

The Nutcracker is a fairy tale-ballet in two acts by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Ms. Nutcracker-Sweet is simply a nutcracker. As she says, "My left leg is Christmas and my right leg is New Year's. Why don't you visit me between the holidays?"

Any connection between events in this song and any actual company Christmas parties attended by members of Beatnik Turtle is purely coincidental...
