Are creeds important? How would we use a creed? Should it be part of our devotional lives?

In Luke 1-5-25, 57-79 we meet Zechariah and the story of how God interrupted his struggle with hope. We also see his initial failure to believe replaced by a determined, courageous and joyful faith. Most of all, we see the dayspring from on high-the brightening light on the horizon that portends the blazing light of full day when Jesus reigns on planet earth.
