This is the Self-Care Through the Chakras Series... a series that has been in my heart since the inception of this show, and I am so excited to finally bring it to you. 

Each week, for 7 weeks, we will explore each of the 7 main chakras through the traditional yogic lens, anchoring our journey in the authentic Indian roots from which they originated. 

These episodes will offer powerful tangible self-care tools for you to help bring more balance and alignment back to mind, body, and spirit. 

Remember that our Becoming is simply a return to our innate wholeness and beauty-fullness, and when we have self-care practices and resources available to us, we can return with much more grace and ease.

Here we are, officially welcoming September and the slow descent into a new season. 

I am always happy to welcome back my friend, Carly Whorton, and her astrological wisdom into this space.

Today's episode explores the transition from August into September through the lens of self-trust, discernment, and seasonal change. We discuss how August brought a surrender and emotional recalibration, and then we connect that thread to September’s invitation to choose more intentionally what benefits from our energy.

In this episode, we explore the meaning of beauty... something which is intrinsic to our very existence. 

I share personal stories about my own relationship to beauty, as well as what I have witnessed through years of working in the industry.

I explore what it means to reconnect with that inner well of beauty rather than looking outside of ourselves for a quick fix...

Because there is absolutely nothing wrong with loving lipstick, Botox, skincare, hair care, makeup, or any of the beautiful ways we choose to adorn ourselves. The invitation is simply to pause and ask:

Am I making this choice from an overflowing cup of beauty-fullness... or, am I hoping it will fill a cup that feels empty?

In this episode we discuss:

• Our bodies as sacred portals through which we experience beauty
• Why "pretty" can be taught or bought, but beauty cannot

I thought I wanted to be prettier... what I really needed was to be cared for. 

If you listened to last week's episode, or have been following me on Instagram @beautyandbecomingwithcoco, you will know that I have been talking a lot about insecurity lately…

Putting myself vulnerably front and center to share my own challenges with the reflection I see in the mirror… especially as someone with a podcast that has Beauty in the name and has been in the industry for decades....

But what if insecurity is another word for pain?

And what if, sometimes, that pain becomes the thing that finally gets our attention?

This episode is a reflection on:

• How insecurity can be understood as emotional pain
• The ways our Soul tries to get our attention through our human experiences
• Choosing compassion over shame for the versions of ourselves who were simply trying to find relief, and honoring the winding ways we arrive at self-care

Maybe the thing you’ve been judging yourself for is actually trying to show you where you need more love.

Maybe your insecurity isn’t the enemy...

Maybe it’s a messenger...

Maybe it is the doorway, which doesn’t have to feel glamorous in order to be transformative on the other side.

Happy New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo!

This week's episode arrived a little later than usual... on purpose. A week of heaviness, density, and overwhelm was asking for the spaciousness to be felt rather than fixed. I needed some time to mother myself before showing up in this space. 

That practice of allowing became the doorway into today's conversation: taking becoming out of the conceptual and into the embodied. Last week's episode explored becoming through the lens of integrity and wholeness on a broader scale... this week, we bring it home into the Self.

Today's episode feels incredibly sacred to me.

These birthday episodes have become something I never intended them to be…

They're love letters to my past and future selves.

They allow me to witness not only how much life can change in a year... but how faithfully our intentions continue unfolding, even when life takes us somewhere we never would have chosen ourselves.

A year ago, I couldn't have imagined what was waiting just beyond my birthday.

Within days, everything I thought I knew about my life began to change.

There was profound healing.

Profound loss.

Profound surrender.

And ultimately… a profound coming home to myself.

Today, I want to share what it's been like to look back on that journey from where I stand now, entering my 36th year of life.

We'll talk about intentions, trust, grief, spiritual practice, self-care, and the beauty of never truly knowing what miracles — or initiations — are waiting just around the corner... beyond the thresholds of our lives. 

I'll also share why this birthday feels intertwined with another birth entirely: the evolution of this podcast from Self-Care Sermon into Beauty and Becoming.

In this short and tender episode, I share the story behind the rebrand... from Self-Care Sermon to Beauty and Becoming... and why it was through deep self-inquiry that made this evolution not just possible, but inevitable.

This isn't just a name change. It's a rebirth. A reclamation... 

Of beauty as something full and true and innate. 

Of self-care as a devotional practice, a doorway back home to yourself. 

Of a sacred thread that has been woven through my lifetimes.
