  • How I Relocated My Bridal Beauty Business to a New State & Booked My Calendar Before I Moved There

How I Relocated My Bridal Beauty Business to a New State—and Booked My Calendar Before I Even Moved There

What if relocating your bridal beauty business didn't mean starting over?

In this episode of Beauty & the Network, I'm taking you behind the scenes of one of the biggest business moves I've made: relocating my bridal hair and makeup business from Rock Hill, South Carolina, to Iowa—and booking brides before I even physically moved there.

And this wasn't my first time expanding into a new market.

After almost 14 years in the beauty industry and years of operating a bridal beauty team across four states, I've learned a lot about what it takes to establish a bridal business in a market where you're not yet known.

But this time, I did something different.

    I documented the process.

I'm sharing the mindset shift that changed how I approached the move, why I started preparing my business months before moving, how I thought about my new wedding market, why SEO became part of my relocation strategy, how I approached networking, and why I didn't feel like I was actually starting over.

If you're a bridal hairstylist, makeup artist, or beauty business owner considering relocating, expanding your service area, entering a new wedding market, or simply trying to figure out how to grow your bridal business strategically, this episode is for you.

This isn't a checklist of everything you have to do.

It's a conversation about how to think differently about your next move.

Because your business relocation doesn't have to start when the moving truck arrives.

It can start long before that.

And you may already have more of the foundation you need than you realize.

You're never truly starting from scratch. You're simply shifting what's already there.

In this episode, we'll talk about:

    • Why I started building my Iowa market before moving there

    • What I learned from previously operating a bridal beauty team across four states

    • The difference between relocating a business and starting over

    • How to begin researching a new wedding market

    • Why SEO should start before you need the bookings

    • How to begin building vendor relationships before you move

    • Why your ideal client should come with you—even when your zip code doesn't

    • The biggest mindset shift I want other bridal beauty artists to take away from my experience

If you're building a bridal hair and makeup business and want more conversations about the strategy behind the business—not just what happens behind the chair—make sure you subscribe to Beauty & the Network.

          • This Is Draining Your Money! |Episode 120

In episode 120 of The Beauty and The Network Podcast, Jasmine J Havenstrite, a seasoned bridal beauty team owner and mentor, dives into the critical topic of common money-draining mistakes in the beauty business.

Regardless of your income, managing your finances wisely is crucial for sustainable growth.

Jasmine shares invaluable insights on avoiding pitfalls that could keep your accounts stagnant.

            • One key tip she emphasizes is the strategic outsourcing of specific tasks, such as website development and system setup. However, the importance of providing clear guidance to those you hire is paramount. Without a detailed roadmap, you might find yourself with a drained account and little to show for it.

              • The episode also highlights the risk of investing in software or platforms without fully understanding their potential. Jasmine emphasizes the need for intentional learning to ensure that your investments are well-utilized, preventing monthly expenditures on underutilized tools.

                • Another critical point Jasmine addresses is the misconception about "balling out" on your kit. Instead, she encourages creating a restock list to manage expenses effectively. When seeking assistance for the backend of your business, Jasmine stresses the significance of having an efficient process. Without streamlined procedures, training someone becomes challenging, leading to potential overpayment for hourly services.

                • Tune in to this episode for an eye-opening discussion on the financial aspects of your bridal beauty business. Learn how to make intentional choices that will positively impact your bottom line. Don't miss out on the actionable advice shared by Jasmine J Havenstrite to avoid common money drains in the beauty industry.

Welcome back to another episode of the "Beauty and the Network" podcast with host Jasmine Jones. In today's episode, we are talking about why you might feel like your success comes and goes but never sticks around for good.

In today's episode, I share how having ups and downs in life is normal, and the main thing we have to focus on is our perspective. Jasmine also mentioned why she originally got into the education space after not seeing enough educators talk about how to maintain a personal life and find balance after growing your business so that it does not take over your personal life.

Habits to help you maintain the growth of your business, bring you balance, track your income, and more. And how to avoid bringing past personal trauma into how you operate in your business.

Lastly, Jasmine mentions how your environment and what you consume and who you hang around can play a huge part in how you show up for yourself, your business, and those around you. And why you should find a routine to help you manage your mental health.

                              • Jasmine introduces two powerful methods for goal mapping: S.M.A.R.T goals and the S.W.A.T chart.
                              • S.M.A.R.T goals stand for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. Jasmine emphasizes the importance of this commonly used framework.
                              • The S.W.A.T chart is presented as an alternative, providing a unique perspective on goal visualization. It allows you to identify potential blind spots that might hinder your progress.

                                1. Game-Changing Approach:

                                  • Discussing the impact of mapping goals using the S.W.A.T chart, Jasmine highlights how this approach goes beyond mere goal listing. It enables you to foresee challenges and obstacles that could impede your journey toward success.
                                  • Ongoing Goals Management:

                                    • Jasmine shares her personal strategy of maintaining an ongoing goals management list, organized by quarters. This systematic approach ensures that goals are continually reviewed and adjusted.
                                    • The importance of creating specific timeframes for each goal is emphasized. Having a game plan with clear completion deadlines helps in visualizing and prioritizing tasks throughout the year.
                                    • Strategic Time Allocation:

                                      • Jasmine explains how breaking down goals into manageable quarters aids in strategic time allocation. This ensures that efforts are directed towards the most critical tasks, enhancing overall productivity.
